Learning Objectives

• Become familiar with new endoscopic surgeries including endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), and per oral plication of the esophagus (POPE). 
• Learn the steps involved in the ESG, and the POPE. 
• Review efficacy and safety of ESG in adults.
• Review early outcomes of POPE. 
   

Dr. Kyoo-Yoon (Jake) Choi, MD, FRCSC

McMaster University

Dr. Jake Choi completed his medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan, followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Calgary. He is currently a fellow at McMaster University, pursuing fellowships in minimally invasive surgery and endoscopic surgery. Dr. Choi's training emphasizes minimally invasive approaches to foregut surgery, including endoscopic techniques, as well as laparoscopic hernia surgery and bariatric surgery.
